I suffered an injury to my spinal cord in 2009, when I was pregnant. This caused paralysis from the neck down, thankfully, the damage was not permanent and I have made a steady recovery and regained movement in all my limbs and most of the sensation has also returned.
I do find that my hands are now 'clumsy' doing certain tasks can be quite tricky, writing for one can sometimes be difficult. As with most things improvement only comes with effort and exercise and crafting is a wonderfully relaxing way for me to exercise my hands and fingers.
